Travel in Scotland and the UK, Accomodation in Scotland and the UK and Tourist Attractions - general tips.
Perhaps the most important thing for any tourist to note is that when travelling in Scotland and the UK in general booking ahead some weeks in advance can save considerable
time and money, particularly if the plan is to travel long distances. Travelling to Edinburgh or Glasgow from London by train takes easily 5 - 6 hours; most of the big airlines and "no frills" carriers can do it much faster and, if booked far enough ahead, can cost significantly less. Short distance train travel is not mormally subject to such savings.
For accomodation, if you are not staying at Peartree House B&B that is, there are a vast number of internet agencies, and listed below are some of the better ones that we have chosen as links. We have also included the principle tourist
sites for England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland, as they list only their own Quality Assured accomodation. Please note that most of these charge booking fees, which would not be incurred if you booked directly with the accomodation provider.
For tourist attractions, we have been selective, listing only specific sites which we consider to contain large amounts of quality information. We are well aware that the internet can provide virtually any peice of information, but its easy to get swamped.
